Setting new standards to make pro wrestling better!
Welcome to the The Superior Pro Wrestling Training
Center (SPWTC). The SPWTC was founded in 1991 by Neil Superior, who tragically passed away
in 1996. In 1997, John Rambo took over operations of the school by request from NWL
Owner/President Dick Caricofe. At that time, the HOUSE of PAIN Wrestling Federation
(HoPWF) was established. Unlike any wrestling school around the globe, SPWTC Instructor
John Rambo offered students the opportunity to put what they have learned to immediate use
in the HoPWF. Since that time, many schools have adopted the practices and training
methods developed by John Rambo. There is no "learn how to wrestle, then go out and
try it" here. You learn techniques and skills, then get right into an actual
wrestling match (before a capacity crowd, each and every Tuesday and Saturday evening). No
other school offers its students the opportunity to actually wrestle on a minimum 102
shows a year! This "on the job" training provides a tremendous advantage to a
newcomer because, when your training is completed, you will already have had a good number
of matches. That's where the real learning actually begins for a rookie. The HoPWF is
rapidly closing in on a total of 1000 shows. That's an average of 8000 matches booked,
wrestled, and posted in the record books. Check the facts and see which school was the
first to offer weekly "hands on" experience in the ring... The NWL's
SPWTC/HoPWF! Many wrestling schools try to imitate the NWL's SPWTC/HoPWF, but they cannot
duplicate the progress and success found at the SPWTC/HoPWF! Bottom line, new standards of
training have been established at the SPWTC/HoPWF which are becoming common place at other
schools around the globe. That alone is a major accomplishment in the professional
wrestling industry.
Over the past 15 years, our graduates and students have wrestled actual matches against
top names such as:

The Tuesday and Saturday night
NWL/HoPWF shows offer the best independent wrestling entertainment the business has to
offer at a price that can't be beat! Former WWF/WCW/ECW stars stop on occasion at the
SPWTC/HoPWF, and
former
3 time WWF World Tag Team Champion Headshrinker Samu makes "guest instructor"
appearances. In addition to the weekly HoPWF events, the NWL is the first independent
wrestling league to offer actual "shootfighting" to anyone interested (HoPWF
shootfight matches are scheduled by request only). If you're looking for a wrestling
school that leads the pack in creativity and originality, the SPWTC/HoPWF is the school
for you!
At the SPWTC/HoPWF, all lessons are conducted by John Rambo (18 year professional wrestler with 34 years experience in various forms of Martial Arts) and training also includes Martial Arts and shootfight lessons for any trainee interested in these forms of self defense. The school is open seven days a week, allowing any interested prospect the opportunity to fit the training into his or her schedule. Rates are very reasonable, with the option to either pay in full with a discount, or make a down payment with monthly payments. Never before has quality professional wrestling training been so easy to obtain.
What will you learn and how long will it take you to achieve the level of readiness needed to make it big? First off, you will learn everything there is to know about the business. Business politics, business tactics, psychology of the business, the actual wrestling/mat skills, wrestlers, lady wrestlers, referees, managers, announcers, valets, commentators, microphone skills, interview skills, tricks and tactics of television wrestling, making contacts, promoting yourself, overseas wrestling tactics/techniques, extreme and hardcore techniques and all the way down to the best tips/tricks/secrets to saving money while on the road going from town to town paying your dues as a newcomer. Basically:
"IF I DON'T TEACH IT, YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW IT" ~ John Rambo
The recognition and exposure you will receive while
attending the NWL's training center is second to no school. John Rambo's reputation in the
business draws much attention to the NWL and HoPWF. As the instructor for the SPWTC/HoPWF
over the last 5 years, Rambo has already established new ideas and training methods that
can't be matched by other wrestling schools. Many future stars will be graduates of the
SPWTC/HoPWF and they will join a long list of present stars that got their first real
breaks in the business while wrestling for the NWL. The NWL has helped start the careers
of such stars as Cactus Jack A.K.A. Mankind (first championship belt Mankind ever held was
the NWL heavyweight title belt in 1991), Neil Superior, Super Destroyer Doug Stahl (former
ECW tag team champion), Gangrel, Axl Rotten, Sal Sincere, Cheetah Kid A.K.A. Rocco Rock,
John Rambo (defeated Ivan Koloff for 1st ever NWL heavyweight title, 1989), and many more.
The length of time training takes depends on each individual. Everyone learns at a
different pace, so there is no set amount of time on how long until you earn your
completion of training certificate. The student's determination, attitude, discipline,
desire and willingness to deal with all the BS that comes with the business, and the
amount of time spent on training, all play an important role in a trainee's progress rate.
Can this school get me to the
television leagues? No school gets you to those leagues. You must do that yourself, no
matter which school you choose to attend. My job is to teach you how to be the best
professional I possibly can and I am very good at my job! Do I have connections in the
business? Check my profile page and
see for yourself. I know a lot of people in this business, but it's your
abilities and talents that are going to get you recognized. If you are a good wrestler and
have something to offer to this business, you'll get spotted regardless of which school
trained you (and I am strictly speaking about respectable schools). Basically, I can teach
you how to be the politician, but you have to run your own campaign. It is on the
independent circuit where you'll develop a character and make a name for yourself. This is
how you start your way to making it to the television leagues, by learning the proper way
to wrestle and then going out and hitting the indy circuit.
The SPWTC/HoPWF also offers an
international training program for anyone interested but living in another country. John
Rambo and NWL president Dick Caricofe will have all arrangements set up upon arrival at
BWI or Dulles International Airport in Maryland. Transportation from the airport to the
training facilities, room and board accommodations, and access to various employment
opportunities (a job is a must for any wrestler waiting for that break) make it all
possible for overseas prospects to attend one of the finest training centers in the world.
