     Hello, and welcome to this week's NWL WEEKLY Newsletter. If you're looking for all the latest news pertaining to the National Wrestling League, HOUSE of PAIN Wrestling Federation and the Superior Pro Wrestling Training Center, you've come to the right place! On Tuesday, January 13th, Sexy Shane Shadows appeared at the HoPWF practice session at the NWL's SPWTC/HOUSE of PAIN and had some words to say to the fans. Shadows told the fans how there will be big changes at the wrestling school after he defeats John Rambo in the main event shootfight on January 31st. Shadows promised the fans they're in for a really big surprise and they better enjoy the last remaining free events in Hagerstown, MD.
     NWL President Dick Caricofe released a statement last month: "Mark your calendars for Jan. 31 for our next event. John Rambo & his arch enemy Shane Shadows will meet in a no DQ SHOOT MATCH. If Sexy Shane Shadows loses he has agreed to NEVER wrestle again!!!  If Rambo loses he has agreed to give up the HoPWF and the wrestling school to Shane.  Folks, this is for real and both wrestlers have signed  a contract!!  At the end of this match Shane could be barred from wrestling for the rest of his life or at the end of this match Shane could be running the HoPWF and the wrestling school. There will be no DQ... there will be a winner!!"
     Whether you want to believe this is a work or a shoot, that's up to you. I am not going to rant on the Internet about any angle. I will say that Dick's statement is true. If Shane loses, he will not wrestle anywhere ever again. If I lose, I will turn over the league I started close to 13 years ago and also turn over full reign of the NWL's SPWTC/HOUSE of PAIN. Shane did make the comment that if I lose, his first order of business will be to put an end to all free matches at the wrestling school. If I lose, Shane is free to do whatever he pleases. There will be a winner at this match on January 31, 2009. There will not be a count out, DQ, no contest or anything like that. Someone will be pinned and the loser will make a big change in his life.
     That wraps up this week's introduction to the NWL WEEKLY Newsletter, except for our history lesson. 500 weeks ago I, along with the help of webmaster Micki Davey, started the NWL WEEKLY Newsletter. 500 weeks straight without missing a beat. In that time, there were wrestler of the week and match of the week winners selected. Sometimes the wrestlers took notice and sent a "thank you" email which I did appreciate because it gave me the sense that people cared about what went on here. Weekly recipes, history lessons and all sorts of news pertaining to the NWL and HoPWF were also posted for the members and fans to enjoy. A very small percentage of the population cares about indy pro wrestling. An even smaller percentage of those people care about what is written in these newsletters. I don't know how many people actually read the weekly newsletters, but I do know it was a lot of work and I hope they found them to be worth the read. I honestly do not know if there will be any more NWL WEEKLY Newsletters posted or mailed out, but everyone can keep up to date with what is going on in the NWL by viewing the calendar section of the website. HoPWF founder and president John Rambo & his arch enemy Shane Shadows will meet in a NO DQ SHOOT MATCH. Every Tuesday evening and Saturday nights when we're not on the road, the NWL/HoPWF holds practice sessions open to the public at the NWL's Superior Pro Wrestling Training Center/HOUSE of PAIN in Hagerstown, MD. Bell time is 7:30PM and parking and admission is always free! The SPWTC/HOUSE of PAIN is located right off I-70 or I-81, and directions and maps are posted at NWL School Maps. There are plenty of eateries in the area if you need food or drinks. If you have the time, stop by for a guaranteed fun filled evening at the NWL's SPWTC/HOUSE of PAIN. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied with a parent or guardian when attending any of the NWL/HoPWF practice sessions.
